12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a clear dark red color. The head is only a finger high, and cream colored. Itís texture and retention isnít the best, nor is much lacing left behind. S: At first, there seems to be a suggestion of light spiciness. This quickly gives way to strong caramel notes, backed by the subtlest smokiness. There is enough here to make me enjoy the aroma, but not enough to blow me away. T: It opens up with a very light spiciness - itís more of a suggestion than an actual note, to be fair. The caramel here is handled very deftly, gradually building in intensity without going overboard. In fact, a lot of the notes here seem to be subtle rather than bludgeoning - still, theyíre defined enough to be prevalent to my scorched Earth of a plate. M: I really like how clean and crisp this is. Despite the sweet flavor, itís well attenuated and dryish finishing. Despite that, itís quite soft and creamy. The carbonation is rather soft, and fits well with its feel. O: This one is pretty damn tasty. Iíd even suggest it exceeded my expectations. This is one Iíd certainly drink again, if not buy by the 6-pack.

On tap in Brooklyn. Clear golden color small head sort of soapy looking head. Aroma is lit bit of wet cardboard hops (pale lager like), caramel, honey. Flavor is caramel, sweet, little bit of cinnamon? (super light if at all). Not bad. Very light, malt forward, drinkable. Nice winter beer.

Very malty with sweet fruity and biscuit notes. Not a lot of flavour coming through from the hops. Yes itís an ale for winter nights.

Aroma is raisin, spice, fruits and ale. Not much bite to this, not too much flavor either. A bit caramely on the palate. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep copper pour, small tan head. Nose is caramel malt. Bittersweet. Middle is mild sweet caramel spread over dark bread, hint of cherries. Finish shows a light woody hop push. Good with sausage, potatoes and carrots.

Bottle. Pours with little to no head with a dark-amber hued body. Aroma is of light fruit, raisins, dates, with notes of brown sugar and caramel. Spiced fruit cake comes to mind when sipping, light bitterness, low carbonation and slick mouthfeel. Not bad, not great. Very well done technically. Ok.

Pours a dark brown with a short lived medium head. Aroma is slightly malty but not very strong. Taste is very malty, some spices, tiny bit of a bitter aftertaste. Very inoffensive but nothing special.
