Clear medium amber colour with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, spicy notes, toffee notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111230]

Draught@O’malleys. Amber rubyish colour with small beige head. Aroma is fruits, raisins, alcohol. Flavour is raisins, spices, sweet malts. Not very nice.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2007 Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear dark ruby, rich creamy head. Spicy cardboardy nose. Sweet and medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Some fruits, evident blunt crystal malt character, lots of paper mash. Fairly low bitterness. A style of beer that solely relies on malt character, and in this case that malt character happens to be simplistic and harsh. A huge let down.

Amber color. Light aroma. Flavors of caramel, light toffee. Ends also with a lot of caramel and light butterscotch.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, fruits, caramel, nuts, notes of peat and hops.

(12oz bottle, courtesy of Dixonian) Pours a clear orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma of nuts, roasted grain, caramel, and florals. Flavor of roasted grain, nuts, and caramel malt.

Bottle at The Rake. Not a great aroma. But its a decent sub ESB malty beer. Better in mouth and finish than on aroma. Tad oxidised on aroma. Fine.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2012 Draught, 2012. Murky amber colour. Sweet with a figgy character. Too sweet and the phenols are too strong. Still not into this one.

Gold-tinged amber-brown colour. It’s a really nice colour, actually. Weak head. Toasty, earthy nose with some brown sugar and tobaccoey hop notes. Heavily toasty palate with caramel & cheesy oxidized hop accents. Sweetish finish. Rather boring.
