Bottle at the Sussex Arms, Twickenhamd Green - Jan ’12. Poured to a mahogany brown colour, red tinges when held to the light and a small white/beige head. A malty aroma greets the nose along with caramel and light hopping. In the taste, malts, a little dried fruit, caramel/toffee and a little warming alcohol especially in the finish. Mouthfeel is of a medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation and fairly drinkable and smooth.

Mega mushroom aroma. Dirty taste. Sticky. Really not a good drinker at all. Sorry guys, don’t hold this against me.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2007 Bottle... Clear copper ale with a mid-sized, creamy, khaki head. The nose is malty, beefy and herbal. The flavor is beefy and kinda funky with earthy, peppery notes. Moderately sweet. Medium-bodied and oily with tingly carbonation. Bland, lightly bitter finish. Well, that was a bit of a disappointment.

Pours an amber/red color. Aroma is malty, some spices, caramel malt and some good fruitiness. Flavor has a touch of hops that melds well with the caramel, spices and bit of dark fruit. Good beer. Goes well with enchilada pie!

2007 edition thanks to crushinator. Te aroma is consistent with the Scottish style, malty and peaty. It drinks very smooth, even creamy above average mouthfeel. There is lots of lace. It is very drinkable for the style, which is a swallow ata time.

bottled. A dark brown coloured beer with a little off-white head. A fruity malty beer with some herbal notes. There’s a bit of a fusty note to this late on. It’s pleasant enough and there’s a hint of spice, but it’s all a bit ordinary.

300 mL. Pours a clear dark amber with almost no head and no lacing. No carbonation. Aroma is of a Scotch ale- Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, caramel malt. Taste is watery and dry with some wood notes, faint caramel, slight dry hops. Finish is seltzer water. Disappointing.
