Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a small head. Lots of malt, some spices, a little bitterness, average brew. I won’t go out of my way for this one.

Clearish, deep amber to red colour and frothy head. roasted almond note, dark/prune fruit, and a hint of brown sugar. medium brew, has a short flavour profile and finishes almost watery. roast up front, and fruit finish with a hint of spice and heat. lighter for the style i’m used to but it is enjoyable.

355ml bottle. Pours clear, deep amber with beige head that lasts. Malty, fruity nose with a fair amount of cereal grain. Prunes and raisins. Maybe even a hint of spice. Fresher on the palate than I expected with those same roasted fruit notes and a slight tart twang in the finish. The cereal grain is pushed way to the back. Not bad stuff at all.

355ml bottle pours an brownish amber color with a finger of off-white head that leaves very little lacing. Aroma is light caramel and faint spices with some earthy hops. Taste is caramel malty sweetness with moderate hop bitterness and hints of smoke and earthy hops. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Quite a pleasant tasting experience.

Bottle. Pours amber brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, fruit and some spices. Flavor was moderately sweet with caramel, toffee, fruit undertones and a hint of some nuttiness with a semi dry finish.

Tap. Slightly hazy amber pour with a white head. Aggressive nose of earth, caramel, and smoke. Medium palate. Taste is peat, caramel, and earth. Not bad.

Hazy red/amber/brown...nice beige head, Caramel malt, smoke scent. Flavour is nutty, toffee...roasted....some wood..leaves a little smoke in the back of the throat....good maltiness.... Very enjoyable.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass A: deep amber brown, slight off white head with little retention S: carmel malt dominates the nose, hint of alchohol T: malt and spice on the tongue. Slight hop bitterness and dark fruity M&d: full bodied slight carbonation full slightly chewy mouth

12oz bottle. Dull amber brown with very little head. Nose is very malt forward with toffee and caramel. Some spice in the flavor but not much. Nutty with a hint of smoke.

355ml bottle Pours a deep amber, with a beige head. Hoppy, spicy aroma, malt, caramel, allspice, cloves, ginger (?). Off-dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2. Spicy taste, allspice, cloves, malt, caramel, quite hoppy, citrus. I expected a bit more "oomph" from 6,1% ABV. (2012-01-16)
