3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rated from notes. Cloudy ruby pour with minimal head. Nose is caramel malt, hops, chipotle, tastes like the 2012 winter ale but with more peppery heat. Dense and complex finish. Well crafted.

Deep black pour with a thick coffee like head. Nutty aroma with a thick mouth. Taste has some herbs and pepper. Hints of nuttiness. Finish is almost minty.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JAN 3, 2013 Tap @ the brewery w Erica, Matt and his gf (?). Black w dark beige head. Nose is spicy and milky. Palate is holiday spices, peppercorn, chili peppers. Interesting, complex, wintery yet warming and a little out of season in a good way. Great fuckin name too.

Sample at the brewery with Jenny. Sweet, syrupy oat taste. Pours black with tan head. Molasses and smokey earth notes. Would like to see this barrel aged in bourbon
