| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 25, 2008 Draft - Brown beer with very thin tan head. This beer was too sweet and thin. There are some nice chocolate and raisen flavors, but that are not nearly prominent enough. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Earthy, leafy hoppiness spices up the bready caramel maltiness of this clean and perhaps too lean Doppelbock.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the clear mahogany.
-For a doppelbock, this drinks like a regular Dunkler Bock.
-The aroma has some quirky notes which aren’t that appealing.
-The body is silky and well rounded, yet does not create the comfort and wealth I associate with the style.
-The bready finish is pleasant, but not compelling enough to have me quickly return for another sip.
On tap at The Great Lost Bear, ME.
