Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 28, 2008 GABF 2007. A hazy yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet and very spicy - especially coriander, but also with a strong note of alcohol - very much like Achouffes Double IPA. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of wheat and coriander, leading to a dry wheaty finish. The alcohol warms the cheeks. Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 27, 2008 Hazy beige with fluffy 2cm head. Incredibly appetizing aroma - yeasty, spicy, lemon, melon, pear...gorgeous. Lemony, marshmallowy body with firm pale maltiness and pepper alcohol. Light clove and nutmeg. Rich, but refreshing, Very complex. A fantastic take on the style. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 30, 2007 Name: Hopfen

opaque yellow? lasting dense white head, lots of drippy lace,
spicy sweet banana aroma,
creamy body,
lots of sweet banana flavor, well balanced by a pepperyspicy clove character with a light bitterness,
the great spicy character makes this beer

argo0 (6176), Washington DC, USA Apr 6, 2008 (750ml bottle, thanks artusory) Cloudy cider body topped by medium off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, yeast, orange/lemon, bubblegum, basil. Taste is medium sweet, yeast, some bubblegum, grassy, orange. Medium-full body. Rastacouere (5270), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 28, 2007 Tap, Blind Tiger NYC. Gorgeous direct golden pour, opaque and fully cloudy. Delicate, yet lasting white foam. Delicious hoppy aroma mixing saaz-like flowery hoppiness with an American citrusy (Amarillo-like mandarine flavours) on top of sprucey and resiney nose. The wheat serves its purpose through texture and pushes its own acidity against the hops’ citrusy one. It seems hard enough to succeed in balancing those should-be clashing flavours, but it’s masterfully achieved to my senses. The whole thing is hugely refreshing, original and tasty. Bitter, but not so much. Cleansing, excellent carbonation. Light-medium bodied. Great stuff.
