Commercial Description:
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

Bottle (750ml corked & caged). Shared with blankboy and biegaman. Could smell it as soon as the corked popped. Cloudy, bubbly gold with a large lasting creamy/foamy white head. Aroma of strong pungent grassy hops and overripe fruit (banana and apple) - smells ’’thick.’’ Taste - more fruity malt, less hop bitterness, moderate alcohol well hidden - yummy. Solid, lively mouthfeel, slightly astringent, medium-long fruity finish. Terrific summer brew - enjoyed on a lovely, warm October 31st on my balcony.

This was an amazing brew. It was a little too old but it still blew me away. It is available again so I will re rate as soon as I find a fresher bottle.

750 ml bottle. Hazy yellow-brown with a thick foamy white head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma is wheat, citrusy hops and herbs. Flavor is wheat, alcohol, herbs and citrusy hops with a creamy mouthfeel. I didn’t taste the classic cloves and banana from the weizen yeast, I tought that this might have been brewed with a belgian yeast, but seems like I was wrong. Very good and drinkable.

Hazy golden in color, which eventually becomes opaque golden (with yeast) when you get to nearly the bottom of the 750. Aroma- alot of citrus and tropical fruit, with some vanilla, clove and wheat in the background. Taste is hoppy with citrus, mango, but not over the top- light banana, vanilla, clove and wheat make their appearance nicely and relatively in balance. Alcohol well hidden. very nice.

750ml. Pours a cloudy golden body with a big white head. Aroma/flavor is citrus; light pear and banana, some good spiciness clove, cinnamon. Very easy drinking and the 7.8abv blends in so well. Nice pick up.

Poured to a hazy golden yellow with medium-thick off-white head that lingered well and left decent lacing. Nose was a very strong and noticeable mix of hops, spices (clove) and fruit, especially bananas. Mouthfeel is full and somewhat tingly, and the taste mirrors the nose, with the pleasant addition of the 8.5% alcohol as the beer warmed. This led to a finish that was slightly bitter, long lasting and very pleasant. A very nice surprise from Brooklyn brewery, since I’ve not been impressed by most of their offerings.

750ml that I paid too much for. Hazy, golden-orange pour with big, loose white head. Smells nice - barnyardy, fresh, bready, and chewy. Nice hops in there. Fresh citrus zest. My bottle said 8.5%, but I couldn’t smell or taste it. Smooth and balanced finish. Soft body. Nice beer.
