COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

Bottle. Medium sized white fizzy head with good retention, cloudy straw body, and a ring of lacing. The aroma is sweet, clove, banana, spicy, citrus hops. The flavor is sweet, clove, spicy, banana, mango, citrus hops, and mildly bitter. The mouthfeel is tingly and this is a medium bodied beer. Overall, a very balanced aroma/flavor, worthy of a try, and a beer I would drink again. More please!

The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of wheat, yeast and coriander, leading to a dry hop finish. Pretty good, don’t know if I’d buy it again, doesn’t have enough caramel and malts for my palate.

Boutip (3458) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 23, 2012
Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry hoppy notes with some citrus notes with a heavy side of wheat malt with light residual sugar notes. Taste is a good mix between a solid wheat malt backbone with light residual sugar which are balanced by some pretty dry hoppy notes with light citrus undertones. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Very solid and unique offering. I would definitely like to try again.

Bottle. Hazy, unclear golden-yellow beer with a very big off-white head. Aroma is wheat, honey, caramel, citrus, tropical fruits. Taste is sweet, with a good amount of spice, and a lot of alcohol. Finish is dry, alcoholic. Medium bodied, well carbonated. Not bad, but the alcohol is too present for me.

Sampled this multiple times, draft and bottle. Not really my style of beer but it is pretty well made. Fairly hoppy when fresh, banana, sweet malts. A little booze in the finish.

Wonderful Amarillo aroma. Pinapple and mandarins and mild pine. Fantastic round flavour with a cloves and banana finish. Great beer!

Very spicy and fruity aroma of hops, yeast and licorice. Big hops aromatic flavor with a spicy tone and hints of citrus. The alcohol is noticeable vaguely in the finish along with a slightly harsh hops bitterness. A very nice and palatable beer!

reebtogi (2169) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 2, 2012
750ml corked bottle pours a golden orange color with a huge bubbly white head that settles quickly leaving some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light fruits with some spices and hops with a trace of yeast on the nose. Taste is light fruit and malt sweetness with some spices and a citrusy hoppy bitterness. Pleasant carbonation and body for a satisfying mouthfeel. A very enjoyable weizen bock that leaves one wanting more.

Had the zymatore version of this. Tart, sour smell. Pours slightly cloudy yellow, no head. Tastes lemony and tart, with notes of oak and gin/juniper. Finishes a bit dry.
