Poured a hazy, orange, brown color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, banana, toffee, and yeast. Tast orange, citrus, more toffee and caramel, creamy mouthfeel, alcohol is well masked.

Draft at the Abbaye - served in a pint glass, not one of those 8 oz wine glasses. Another energy beer: very cloudy brown beer, no head. Powerful classic german weizen aroma: banana, clove and malt. Big fresh and refreshing flavor, starts off fruity (bananas and oranges) and yeasty, then nicely transitions to a somewhat sweet malt flavors, and finishes with a bit of at boozy kick. Far superior to Victory’s Moonglow.

"They had some trouble with the tap so was a little warm, pour was a cloudy brown color with small head little lacing. Smell of banana and caramel. Had a citrus and carmael taste to it. Had a nice creamy mouthfeel. Was a good beer."
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 TheBeerGod (4633) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - MAY 15, 2005
Draft at the 4th Annual Virginia Beer Festival in Norfolk, VA. Cloudy reddened amber with a small coppery head. Nose is bubblegum, wheat, spices, caramel, malts and fruit. Taste seemed almost exactly like Aventinus. Bubblegum, clove, wheat, caramel, banana, light citrus, and some alcohol notes. Very rich and full bodied. Creamy at times with a slight citrus tang and moderate carbonation. Finish is spices, wheat, more bubblegum, caramel, brown sugar, alcohol and fruits. Great beer and my favorite at the festival.

Off a keg that was brought to Heavyweight. Brownish cloudy yellow in color with a off white head. Malty banana clove flavor. Much like a Aventinus. Not strong. Smooth tasting. Clean mouthfeel. very nice beer. Drinkable.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Kinz (2971) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - APR 2, 2007
Draft at Capital Ale House, post 10k recovery. A beautiful beer, a glowing, hazy orange amber with a compact, lasting head. It shimmered in the sunlight. Faint aroma, a bit of bread and cloves. Flavor was gently of bread, balanced clove, and a touch of banana. Not particularly full bodied, but an easy drinking, enjoyable take on the style. Maybe not as complex as other offerings, but still a nice beer.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rastacouere (6044) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 28, 2005
Orange sunset-like amber. Off-white film is fairly sticky. Wheaty banana nose, straightforward cloves, phenols, biscuits and heavy carbonation. Mostly sweet palate, no detectable hoppiness. Cloves, dry bananas, pancakey yeast and caramel play around together, creating a textbook weizenbock, but never reaching close to an aventinus level of complexity. medium bodied, high carbonation. Comfortable, good straightforward beer.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 willblake (2624) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - MAY 1, 2005
04.23.05 Tap at TAP NY, also tap at Heavyweight open house in march. Pale amber for a weizenbock, hazy; creamy tan head. Big wheaty aromas, banana, orange. But something is off, medicinal, out of whack and I get a touch of an odd medicinal aroma which could just be the big alcohol peeking through. Luckily, it has not even a trace of unpleasantness in the flavor which is yeasty, bready, bananas, clove hints. Tending towards the young and harsh side, but I’m sure the brewers were just excited to finally have an interesting new beer to release for once. Could use some time to improve.
