COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyner Weisse is a Bavarian-style wheat beer, unfiltered and chock full of spicy esters that evoke hints of cloves and fruit, some say even bananas. The beer is made with a traditional weizen yeast strain. The malt mix is half malted wheat and half barley malt. The hops are Perle, from Germany. Bitterness is low to medium.

Very light and enjoyable Hefe-weizen beer. Very little hops flavor, mainly the flavor comes from the complex weizen ale yeast. Good for style.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2007 Dull, slightly hazy, copper-tan sort of colour. Not really enough head for the style at all. Aroma is flat, muddy, with faint banana...hey...I really liked this when I had it at the brewery back in ’97. What’s happened? The taste is flat, vaguely malty, with tartness where the phenols ought to be. Damn, if this is what happens when you go upstate, I’m not pleased. I gave this 8-3-7-4-14 = 3.6 the first time out.

Wow!! I can hear the Oom-Pah band play if I drink enough. Nice head, nice flavor, very refreshing. The perfect replica to the German Weisse!

One of the better American Wheat beers, but Ramstein beats it out hands down.

Very nice and close to authentic, but heavy on the malt sweetness, reducing your ability to drink it in any quantity. Great yeast, though.
