COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyner Weisse is a Bavarian-style wheat beer, unfiltered and chock full of spicy esters that evoke hints of cloves and fruit, some say even bananas. The beer is made with a traditional weizen yeast strain. The malt mix is half malted wheat and half barley malt. The hops are Perle, from Germany. Bitterness is low to medium.

[At GABF 2004] An unclear orange beer with a white head. The aroma is a weird orange aroma, while the flavor is sour wheaty with notes of lemon. A boring hefeweizen - rather have a German.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Beautiful hazy bronze, without much head. Typical fruity as in a classical German "Hefe-Weizen", which is the obvious ideal. Loads of cereal, loads of yeast. But it doesn’t have the same impact as the best German examples of the style.

35.5 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is grainy and citric to acidic wheaty. Slight spiced too with a fruity banana note. Somewhat thin mouthfeel for a hefeweizen, a bit fizzy carbonated too. Somewhat more citric flavoured than a classic German hefeweizen. Ends somewhat short in a a rather thin flavour and mouthfeel. I cannot claim this doesn’t taste like a hefe-weizen, but it seems that it is slight too citric, a bit too estery and lacks some creamy texture in the mouthfeel to feel right - it feels somewhat artificial. Not bad - just not good either.

Bottled@The White Horse, Parson Green. Hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is wheat, caramel, some earth and mild lemony and bananaish notes. Flavour is much the same with earthyness being a bit strong. Probably not that fresh bottle.

Bottled. Almost clear deep golden, rich airy head. Lightly estery banana aroma with a touch of paper. Fruity and medium bodied with some light berryish acidity. No bitterness. Thirst quenching, fairly authentic weizen.

Hazy golden color. Aroma of plastic, with some spices and white sugars. Medium body, some sweetness, bad plastic feeling, very light fruitness. Unpleasant.
