COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Actually , the bergamol in our mead is called Scarlet Bee Balm. Itís a native to eastern North America and grows right up th street from us at Jorgesenís Organic farm in Westerville, Ohio. The firecracker-red flowers are added to our central Ohio wildflower honey mead with blueberries from Mansfield, Ohio. the result is a balance of berry and tea favors with a slightly sweet finish.

Sampled on draught at the meadery bar in Columbus, Ohio. Pours a scarlet red (cherry) red mead, clean disk top with some foam bubbles on edge. Aroma of both blueberries and light honey with a hint of English cider yeast. Taste is light to medium bodied, some floral esters and a hint of blueberries. Finish is when the semi-dry honey flavor comes out along with some tart blueberry aftertaste.

Taster on tap at the meadery. Light orange pink red color, completely clear. Good, interesting, herbal tea notes in the aroma. Some juicy, fleshly red apple flavor. Moderate sweet taste, lightly slick, light bit of dryness. Medium to bigger body. Hides 14% well, could drink like 12%. Good, interesting stuff. Very potent and flavorful, a bit more assertive than the others. Lightly spicy in the finish. Very long, interesting flavorful finish. Nice spicy stuff.

Draft to taster at the meadery. Looks good; a still pinkish orange. Smells solid; tea, honey, and berries. Tastes like it smells with a pleasant mouthfeel. Good stuff.

Pours dark pinkish purple kind of color, looks kind of like juice, swirl gives it some nice legs. Aroma is sweet honey with spices and blueberry , the honey still comes through well. Taste is tea and honey up front then tart and sweet blueberry then back to a bit of a spice tea with a dry but not real dry finish. Very good mead that i would buy again.

Had tried during my week in Columbus with my good friend, Andy. Pours a clear ruby red; as others have stated, zero carbonation which is just fine and dandy with me. Smells right off the bat of steeped black tea leaves, lowbush blueberry fruit, citrus, caramelized honey, lemon balm oil and mint. Tastes follows suit. Ends vinous and dry, with notes of heather, honey and booze warmth. Glad I had the opportunity to try.

Poured from a refrigerated bottle into a wine glass. Pours a lighter purple color. No carbonation. The aroma is lightly berry laden honey. The mead smells a touch off. Iím not sure if itís meant to be that way, or what, but itís lacking any sort of wow factor. Taste is fruity and continues to become more enjoyable as it warms. Itís a better mead than some.

Tap. Poured clear ruby color with good legs. Moderate to heavy blueberry fruity, floral honey and small alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a thick smooth texture and long legs. Medium to heavy sweet fruit and honey flavor with a medium to heavy complex sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Pleasing smooth alcohol burn. Standout mead.

Pour in a sampler at the meadery. Pours a clear blueberry jam color with no head or carbonation. The aroma has blueberries along with tea, honey, floral notes, and maybe a hint of orange citrus. The flavor follows suit; sweet blueberry and honey, wildflowers, citrus peel. Medium-bodied, with a vinous moutfheel and no carbonation. Damn tasty.

Bottle sampled at the Mead Mountain tasting on 1/8/11. Clear blush color. Herbal aroma that I wouldnít have been able to pick out as bergamot without the suggestive name, but Iím gonna go ahead and guess thatís what Iím smelling. Also blueberry and honey notes in there. Sweet blueberry in the flavor along with some honey and a dry herbal finish.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2011 Sample at the Mead Molehill tasting on 01/10/2011. Clear ruby-amber color with a minimal head and no lacing to speak of. Citrus and honey aroma. Medium body with flavors of sweet berries and honey. The finish is sweet honeycomb and fruit. Pretty good overall.
