2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 JaBier (3212) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - MAY 9, 2010
Sample at Brothers Drake. Clear yellow color. Honey aroma with a bit of citrus and flowers. Dry white wine flavor with honey, some citrus fruit and a thin and watery floral finish. Oh, and it also says that there is a "balls aroma, somewhat sweaty", but I think that’s the result of leaving the notebook unguarded in the presence of smartass friends.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Dogbrick (4837) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 6, 2010
Sample at the Meadery. Pours a slightly hazed yellow color and sticks to the side of the glass somewhat. Vinous nose with sweet honey notes. Semi-dry on the palate with flavors of flowers, honey and Chardonnay. The finish is fruity with a sweet honey aftertaste. Average overall.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 ChainGangGuy (3835) - Canton, Georgia, USA - FEB 25, 2010
Appearance: Pours out a very clear body with only a thin tinge of yellow.
Smell: Displeasing nose of wax lips on clearance sale and a honey from those clear plastic squeezable bears.
Taste: Simple, semi-sweet honey taste starts off the proceedings, then things dry out considerably and a harsh medicinal alcohol character washes over the tongue and lasts for the long, long finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied.
Drinkability: Whew! It’s kind of hard to down this one, friends. Where’s a glass of water when I need one.

Sampled at the Meadery. The best smeller of the bunch! Not a fan of dry wines, but this mead was just a great balance of dry vs. sweet. Honey and flowers on the tongue.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Moggman (235) - Columbus, USA - SEP 24, 2008
Glass poured at Brother’s Drake. Aroma is very floral with citrus and vanilla notes. Dry with a good, not too heavy, carbonation. Citrus notes throughout. Finishes clean and light.
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rogueone (506) - I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA - JUL 30, 2008
Aroma is butterscotch, light toffee, fresh squeezed citrus, and undertones of vanilla, and honey. An amazing smelling mead. Flavor is crisp and resembles a dry white wine with a much fuller body. Citrus notes throughout make this a very pleasant mead for anyone who does not enjoy the sticky sweetness of the sweeter meads.
