4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On draught pour at the meadery bar in Columbus, Ohio. Pours a clear Pinot gris colored still mead with a clean disk top and excellent viscosity tears. Aroma of light honey, dry yeast, a hint of dried floral and mild herbs. Taste is light bodied, slightly dry with flavors of light honey, some dried herbs and mild yeast. Finish is dry, crisp with little lingering yeast aftertaste. Dry meads are not my favorites, but after 20+ years of sampling dry meads, Brother Drake really came through in defining excellent dry meads.

Taster on tap at the meadery. Totally translucent, kind of paler yellow color. Very nice spot-on wild flower honey aroma. Medium to bigger body. Kind of smooth, very light carbonation. More dry finish. Good moderate sweet taste, lightly dry finish, mild alcohol. Not as syrupy or sweet as most meads of this gravity are. Awesome mead, very nice and well done.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft to taster at the meadery. Looks solid; a still and completely transparent light gold. Smells of good honey. Tastes like it smells, but not as robust. Decent on the palate. Not bad.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very pale gold pour. In the nose I get dried flower pedals and honey. Semi dry on the tongue. For the alcohol content, its dangerous. Very easy to drink.

Was served at the source. How best to describe such a mead... in all honestly this was like drinking a common California Riesling with which stale ginger ale has been added. I nosed and tasted an extreme surge of sourdough to the point where I had asked the tender if it was soured. Picked up some pear notes alongside tannic acid and honey. Yellowish in presentation. My friend absolutely adored this; me, not so much.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour in a sampler at the meadery. Pours a clear, very pale gold with no carbonation or head. Simple aroma and flavor- honey, floral notes, and some fruit. About as basic as a mead as I’ve had, without any intensity. Medium-bodied, without any carbonation and a smooth, sweet mouthfeel and floral finish. Good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This Mead pours a clear pale yellow color with no head and decent legs. Aroma of honey and dank fruit. Full-bodied and semi-dry with a sweet honey character and notes of dried fruit in the background. The finish is sweet with herbal and honey notes left behind. Decent overall.
