Commercial Description:
Bottle and keg - filtered but unpasteurised.
Freedom Pilsener is the sister brew to the existing Freedom Organic. The Pilsener is brewed at our own brewery in Abbots Bromley near Burton-on-Trent. To produce Freedom Pilsener we've re-assembled the original Freedom brewery and bought a much larger brewery set-up from the States to cope with demand. We're located on a green field site with its own supply of the famous Burton water, (acknowledged to be among the best brewing water in the world) drawn from the alabaster layer of limestone, which has attracted brewers to the Burton area for over three hundred years. This is pumped direct to our brewery from natural underground sources. We're also growing our own barley on the farmland and bottling and kegging our beer at the brewery so we can control every element of the beer we produce. To perfect the recipe, we tracked down Master Brewer Ian Ward, who developed the original Freedom Lager back in '95, when it was the first micro-brewed lager in Britain.

Bottled@Monks Café, Stockholm. Golden colour, small head. Aroma is malts, hops and some slight grainy notes. Flavour is very much the same with some bigtime earthy notes. Didn’t see the bottle for a BBE, but tasted a bit like it might have passed it’s prime.

Bottled. A slighlty hazy gold coloured lager with a rocky white head. The aroma is sweet and pukey. A whiff of grass lifts it from the downright nasty. More puke in the taste. Pretty nasty and sickly. It’s a bit ugh.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy straw-gold with a white head. Aroma is fruit (apricot) and grainy malt. Flavors are grainy malt dominated with light fruit from the hops. Some corn as well. Must have had an old bottle, as there was also a bit of wet cardboard and it was a little watery.

Bottle, Odd Bins, Oxford. Very pale gold, sticky white cap. Grassy, herbal hops and caramel accented white bread. Soft, sweet malt, nice chewy medicinal hops. Surprising amount of flavor. Surprisingly well pull together.
