unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Jun 12, 2009 12oz bottle. Clear, thin, light amber color. Aroma of fish broth. Sharp flavor of a ream of paper. I wouldn’t take this beer to a booger pick. 14 march 09 xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Apr 7, 2009 Bottle. Clear, darker golden color with small white head. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Mar 27, 2009 Appearance: Pours a clear, gold-orange body with a smallish, wispy, white head.
Smell: Vague, lightly grainy malt nose with some nearly imperceptible hop notes. As with their lager, we’re getting off to an inauspicious start.
Taste: Slightly grainy maltiness with a mild cereal sweetness. Light spicy hop quality with a faint bitterness. Dry, crisp finish. Gets suspiciously water near the end.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Sadly, it’s very similar to their lager except, for me, with just a hair more of a grainy character. While most certainly not out-and-out terrible, it does come across as rather dull and lifeless. SSSteve (2049), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Dec 10, 2008 clear orange. no lacing. no head. no aroma......what is this?? flavor is smoky...seriously. dry finish. light bodied. trader joe got ripped off on this one. tomciccateri (496), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Oct 3, 2008 12-ounce brown bottle in Albuquerque, New Mexico (Trader Joes) . Clear dark gold, moderate white head. Bready aroma. Medium body, fairly full mouthfeel (well carbonated). Light malty flavor paired with a subtle hop flavor and bitterness. Clean, with a late hoppy note. OKAY lager, but Pils - questionable. cazort (413), Newark, Delaware, USA Aug 16, 2008 (Bottle) Very dark amber or brown. Foamy head smells of hops and tastes quite bitter. The hops are fairly strong in the aroma of the beer, but not as strong as some Czech pilseners. Thin. Paradoxically this brew is thinner than I like for this style of beer, while being less crisp. This is not a good thing. There is not very much malt flavour, and not much complexity to the malt. Overall, this one is a decent, drinkable beer, but not as good as other Czech pilseners I’ve tried. It doesn’t have as much of the grassy aroma that I love about this style and that most of the other good beers have. Wegro (218), Fresno, California, USA Jul 3, 2008 I didn’t think this was bad but i am not very familiar with pilseners yet. i liked the bready malts but the hops were lacking. really fast finish. sort of weird metallic aftertaste too. still not bad.
