My Bottom Line:
This very yeasty Belgian-style Ale develops banana esters and lots of spicy, almost vegetal notes that dominate the shy maple-like dark malts.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the hazy amber.
-This is not like any Dubbel I’ve had; there are very few dark fruit notes or almondy caramel angles either.
-The body is lean and the bubbles tiny and effervescent. A few more dextrins from specialty malts would have helped (in my tastes, of course).
-The finish is rather dry, and perhaps a bit astringent too (that yeast character is overwhelming).

On tap at the brewpub.
