OldStyleCubFan (12), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jun 5, 2005 My bottle was heavily carbonated and poured a huge head. I don’t think I miss treated the beer. With a name like Black Douglas, I expected something a little darker and more like a stout but didn’t notice until after the poor it was ale. Once I got over the shock of it not being a stout, it’s actually a very enjoyable Scottish Ale and reminds me of my visit to Edinburgh. Very nice Scottish ale with very slight hoppiness. If I’m craving a Scottish Ale, I would track definitely try to track down batch of Black Douglas.
