UPDATED: FEB 8, 2006 Really Black, as the part of the name, but it was really a punch, I guess it would be a little hard to swallow at the end of the tasting session.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 rauchbierlover (202) - ITALY - MAY 20, 2012
Deep dark ruby body with a foamy white head. Aroma of cherry, caramel. Taste is roasted malt, some cherry again. Body is medium (a bit like the doppelbock style). Nice one.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20 Darwenus (95) - Virginia, USA - APR 8, 2012
I poured it, raised it to my nose, and was hit with a really deep, strong, black cherry and roasted malt smell. And then, the flavor. Wow. The cherry in the aroma isn’t a strong presence in the taste, what I noticed instead was big, smokey, rich malt. Caramel tones, a little coffee, too. This stuff really h as a presence.

Fruity sweet aroma with some caramel and roast malt. The flavor is similar to the aroma with a little bit more roastiness. nice lively feel and a dry finish. The best part of this beer is holding it to the light and seeing the red hue, beautiful.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 fiveacestx (161) - Texas, USA - FEB 10, 2012
Bottle - pours dark brown with a dissipating head. Has a light malty aroma and a taste of toast. The finish was a little on the thin (watery) side.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 robgibbens (301) - Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA - JAN 22, 2012
Very dark drown amber color. Head is short and provides some lacing. Malty aroma with scotch and alcohol notes. The taste is somewhat sweet and dry with a nice crisp finish.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 caralkaline87 (386) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 27, 2011
Pours very dark red-brown with a slight light brown head, fading to weak lacing. Nose is fairly weak and typical of the style, with raisins and brown sugar balanced against very floral hops and a touch of wood. Flavor follows suit and is more bland than I expected; none of the "strength of this great Knight" showed up in the beer, it seems. Flavor is standard weak ESB with a little extra caramel and on the short side with the hops. Finish is virtually nothing. Snooze fest.

Serving: 22 oz. bottle from Molly MacPhersons. It pours a nice brown color with a small tan head. The nose has some nice roasty notes. The flavor has light roasted malt, stewed fruit, molasses, and leather. Very drinkable with a light to medium body. Quite nice.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Vignale (911) - Malmö, SWEDEN - OCT 2, 2011
En mörk mahognyfärgad öl med stora dofter och smaker av torkad frukt, fikon, päron, sirap utan att bli för söt och med en bra lätt beska som förlänger eftersmaken. Riktigt god.
