First tasted this in Gabriels, Paisley in August 1997. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale amber in colour with a thick white head. Light aroma of meadowsweet and dusty hay. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a light digestive biscuit note with fruity citric flavours of gooseberry and kiwi. Dusty hop resins give an aromatic dry bitter aftertaste. Good malt and hop balance in the well rounded finish. A good session ale for hot summer days.

Cask, handpull at the Malt and Hops?, Edinburgh, with Craig, Jan, Charlotte & Loz, 29.10.10 Pours amber with a big white fluffy head. The aroma isn’t up too much. Taste is low-med bitterness, bit too much confectionary going on here for me, too sweet lacking bite and identity. A6 A5 T6 P3 Ov12 3.2

A Mes rate. Cask at the Dog n Bell thanks to Carrie. Clean pale amber with a thin white head and plenty of lace. Perfumed aroma. Actually it’s very floral. Similar flavour. A slight hint of honey. Some faint bitterness in the finish. Dull but drinkable.

Cask conditioned at The Coastguard Inn, St Margarets bay, Kent. Gold with white head. Sharp and hoppy, hurrah, nicely dry with a slightly thinnish malt, hopefully the end of a bad run. Fresh and lasting bitterness. Decent.
