Light hoppy notes as well. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Light sweet and bitter flavor in balance. Light toasted malty and light bitter finish. 6 / 3 / 6 / 3 / 14

Pours opaque black with a decent cream head. The nose is a mixture of mild chocolate and biscuit flavours. The taste confirms that this is somewhere between a bitter and a stout. The palate is medium to rich in structure and texture and the finish is not bad - it kind of cleans. Overall, not bad but a bit ’caught between styles’ for me.

Bottle from Tesco. Sour malty aroma. dark brown colour with bubbly beige head. Grassy treacle caramel malt flavour, quite smooth. Tastes better than it smells.

rauchbier (3655) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - DEC 24, 2006
Bottle from Tesco. Deep ruby brown, good lasting pale beige head and gentle condition. Pleasant sweet toffee roasted notes and smokiness in the nose, gentle sweet burnt toffee and low smokiness in the mouth but becoming oversweet and slightly cloying with time, sweet roasted earthiness and faint bitter edge in the finish but ultimately a little over balanced towards sweetness.

Dark red-brown, coca cola colored with medium sized light brown head. Perfumy licoricy aroma with syrupy note, some bitterness also here. Medium bodied. Flavor is similar with more lemon, licorice and syrupy also here. Lemon in somehow skunky aftertaste. Not a good beer.
