From the bottle this pours a dark brown with no head and a cola-like carbonation in the beginning, although this gradually subsides. Creamy, sweet caramel and tobacco aromas with roasted, dark chocolate notes. None of these are too obvious at the start but come across well once it beer has aired slightly. Rich burnt malt and chocolate flavours coat the palate. These flavours are comitted to the tongue with a creamy texture. All of these qualities make for a delicious ale that’s varied and especially pleasant on a cool night.

Clear dark amber brown color with a small to average, frothy, good lancing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dark berry. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (180508)

Jun 2, 2008 Dark brown with a red hue and a creamy head. This mix between a Porter and an Old Ale has a sweet aroma with notes of roasted malt, caramel and coffee. The flavour has sweetness, notes of roasted malt, light coffee, caramel, candy sugar and dried fruits. The mix is OK, just not one I would buy again.
