Hazy orange-golden body, white head. Light sweetish cardboardy nose. Eggy, bitter taste, some hops, somewhat agrumey-piney. Ok beer, light and not all that exciting but decent.... could use a better malt backbone and a stronger hopiness.... buuut then it wouldn’t be what it is.

3rd January 2009. Hazy pale amber beer, Not much head and low carbonation. Caraway aromatic malt with a sour edge and a little bit of watery hops. Slightly unusual flavour but goes down easy enough.

Last of the Xmas selection pack. Dusty orange-gold with a tall uneven head tufting the glass. Honey, wholemeal bread and pine aroma; plenty more pleasantly coniferous hop in the mouth, joined by cream, honey, pastry and lemon. A little bit metallic, but it doesn’t really detract from the freshness of the hop and malt notes. Something very nuanced, plain and English going on here, and I like it. Splash of Black Country, maybe? Slick and harmonious, and actually tastier than the cask version.

Don’t know why this one gets such low ratings. I really enjoyed it. Pours dark gold, with aromas of apples, peaches, and a strong note of honey. Somewhat sweet; a sort of golden sweetness, well rounded. The honey notes were strong on the finish, and it all finished off with a hint of hops and saffron. Really good.

Pretty light gold in the glass - nose of wet grass and a hint of hops and aluminum. Taste is watery and bland - light flowers and more of the metallic up front, then water, then a slight hop bitterness. The finish actually improved a little after the glass sat for a bit and the bitterness started to cut through the watery aluminum enough to make it palatable. Not a very good effort here.
