Cask at The Cricketers, Shirley. It pours slightly hazy golden yellow, with a big fluffy white head. The nose is hay, farmyard, floral, leaf, yeast, dough and tangerine. The taste is hay, straw, honey, touch of caramel, floral, grapefruit and tangerine, with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Well balanced and easy drinking.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Pours a light golden colour with a decent white head. Aroma of caramel and lemony citrus hops. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Lingering lemon and caramel notes.

First tasted this in the Fox & Hounds in June 1985. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale gold in colour with a thin white head. Light citrusy hop in the floral aroma. Thin but refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a slight tea biscuit base with honeydew and lychee fruit. Lemon hops give a citric bite in the dry aftertaste. Good balance in the bitter sweet finish with faint sultanas and tanins present in the end. Decent enough Scottish bitter.

Cask conditioned at The Guildford Arms, Edinburgh with cgarvieuk. Gold with white head. There is an odd, perfumed note to this, quite oily on the palate, the body is quite thin and grainy carrying this flowery perfumed flavour. It had me stumped.

Cask handpull, The Crown, Nuneaton. Still honey amber with a creamy white head. Very meek sultana fruit, maybe apple aroma with slight cheese and hay. Grainy sweet with almost imperceptible soft honey, hay and sultana notes. Breakfast cereal with dried apple bits. Faultless, fresh, dead and flabby.

Cask in The State bar. Aroma is pale malts and strange hop aroma which as it goes on becomes plasticy. Taste is similar slightly blue tack flavour, its in great shape and condition is really good, but its just a badly made beer.

cask Aberdeen Beer festival 07 ... Golden yellow ... crisp citric hop nose ... tingly zingy citrus hop ... and oddly some tea... (lipton iced tea)
