2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 batneil (127) - - DEC 26, 2012
A bottle of this frequently appears at Christmas. I find it a bit too treacly. It?s a very dark brown, strong tasting ale, with a bit of fizz.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 robinvboyer (2576) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 30, 2012
Ruby pour, big frothy white head. Lovely sherry, sweet caramel, bready malty nose. Nice carbonation, solid mouthfeel. Semi bitter, dry finish. Subtle grassy hops, get lost in the really nice malts. A nice winter ale.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Wolfbass (741) - Firenze, ITALY - NOV 19, 2012
Come molte inglesi l’aspetto è ottimo con un bel colore ambrato e schiuma fine. Al naso malto in evidenza, come in bocca è ancora il malto protagonista.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 rondphoto (981) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - NOV 12, 2012
Pours a hazy dark amber with a light head and spots of lace. The taste begins with pure caramel malt joined through the palate with mild floral bittering and a lingering semi-sweet finish. Not a big deal, but, quite enjoyable. Recommended.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ontbeermaker (1832) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 21, 2012
Bottle, pours a copper, aroma is quite earthy and flavour is too, the finish is a bitter, kind of stringent overall, it was drinkable
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 McWorta (231) - LUXEMBOURG - OCT 17, 2012
Rubin red light brown in colour. Pretty much no head, or fast fading. On the nose you have aromas of sweet, lightly roasted malts and chocolate traces. Full mouthed, full bodied beer with a rather oily slick light velvety texture. Nicely balanced. The finish is sweet and lightly dry.
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 kaziopiwosz (238) - Warszawa / Wałbrzych, POLAND - OCT 1, 2012
Sweety, raisins taste and nute of bitterness in palate. Somewhat roasted palate. You can feel the power of this beer whilst drink. White foam, stays for 30 seconds. Brown colour. The best Scotch beer so far.
