DruncanVeasey (1612), Burbage, Leicestershire, England Apr 28, 2008 Gravicask, The Bull at Witherly, 6.7%. Amber brown measure nicely heaped with froth. Smotheringly sweet nose of rapsberry, old vegetable nuttiness/dankness, wet sock. Strange, but not repulsive. Mouth fat with caramel, overripe boozy fruit, cherryish alcohol, dunked Twiglet. A hint of oaky old tun. No off notes here, enjoyed it. Mes_and_Sim (4176), London, Greater London, England Apr 16, 2008 A Mes rate: Cask at Tennents Bar, Glasgow. Darkish amber brown with a sparklered to death head. Sweet as hell. Caramel and dried fruit. Heavy tobacco and malt, tangy and sour. Some way out of condition but it’s ok if you force it through a sprakler right? No it bloody isn’t! motelpogo (4111), Plzen, Czech Republic Oct 25, 2007 cask at tennent’s bar, glasgow. deep amber, large-bubbled off-white head. some strawberry jam aroma, toffee flavour but spoiled by a hint of rubber Rastacouere (5258), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 1, 2007 Clear dark caramel coloured ale covered by an off-white 1cm head. Poorly conditioned or plain bad beer as soured and rather acetic and herbal flavours dominate the aroma. This was from a Tennent’s pub mind you, so you would expect it to be in good condition. In mouth, a caramelly toastiness peaks through, but quickly, grapeyness that is not as much vinous as oxidized sherry-like dominates and leave us expecting an upcoming dryness that never comes. Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 15, 2007 Cask at Tennent’s Bar, Glasgow. A dark amber beer with a thick beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel, leading to a dry and lightly bitter nutty finish.
