Aroma of fusels and raspberry esters. Medium sweet with syrupy, mushy mouthfeel,. No bitterness. Dominated by aceton and higher alcohols, which isn’t a good thing... yespr (8539), Copenhagen O, Denmark Nov 26, 2008 From cask at Tennents. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Mild acidic yet also dark caramel malty aroma. Light note of overripe fruity flavours mixed with a solid caramel malty base flavour. Smooth caramel malty finish with a light bitterness showing through. harrisoni (5605), Ashford, Kent, England Feb 1, 2007 Cask handpull at White Horse, Parson’s Green. Very deep red with thin beige head. Lovely malt fruit flavour. Bit of harsh nettle. Nice, but could be better, lacks intensity and a bit too nettley for me. Rastacouere (5421), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 1, 2007 Clear dark caramel coloured ale covered by an off-white 1cm head. Poorly conditioned or plain bad beer as soured and rather acetic and herbal flavours dominate the aroma. This was from a Tennent’s pub mind you, so you would expect it to be in good condition. In mouth, a caramelly toastiness peaks through, but quickly, grapeyness that is not as much vinous as oxidized sherry-like dominates and leave us expecting an upcoming dryness that never comes.
