Cask at The white Lion, Covent Garden, London dec 2012. Dark brown beer with a medium, lacy beige head. Coffee, vanilla, licorice, raisins aroma. Bitter coffee, licorice, ashes and roasted malt flavour. Too much bitter coffee flavour for me.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 PsychoGunnar (29) - Bergen, NORWAY - JAN 10, 2013
Sweetish aroma with hints of oak, liquorice and white meat. Beautiful foam, dark in colour. "Naughty" flavour - tastes of overboiled soup and soot. A bit too eager hopping and a slightly too endurant bitterness. Hints of whisky, which is a really good thing.

Cask at The White Lion, Covent Garden, London. Toffee aroma, roasted, caramel, licorice, raisins, vanilla notes, raisins, sweet grapes, creamy notes. Licorice flavor, soot, caramel, figs, grapes, a bit vinous, roasted, some chocolate. Way too thin body but apart from that a really nice and drinkable stout.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 AshtonMcCobb (1447) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 19, 2012
On tap @ the Haymarket Bar. Pours opaque black with a nice crema. The nose is of biscuits, toffee and chocolate. The taste is much the same with the biscuits coming through particularly. The palate has a medium to full bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly elegant finish. Overall, a good ale.
