A dark red almost brown beer with an OK head. The aroma is that of smoked and chocolate malt - just like a stout should smell. The flavor is a strong stout flavor dominated by smoked malt - it’s a little watery in the middle but ends with a good aftertaste. Not much like the other oatmeal stouts I’ve had - but a good stout anyways

Århus2008 50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a redish glare and a lacing light tan head. Mild roasted malt aroma. Flavour is mild roasted and light smooth oat flavour and mouthfeel. Light acidic touch into the finish.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) This is not only black, this is black as hell - with a small, fine brownish head. Brewed with oats but smells like licorice. Lightly smoked notes from the black malt, but never burned. Some underlying chocolatey sweetness. Quite light body and actually rather refreshing and quenching. 240104

Bottled@Poirotti’s Skotoberfest 2007. Really dark rubyish red, next to black basically. Not much head, just a little brownish foam floating. Aroma is very fruity hops with some mild wooden and roasted hints. Flavour is roasted malts, some slight caramel and ryebread. Also some slight brown sugary notes as for the sweetness. Aftertaste leaves a roasted, yet quite hopped flavour.

Black color. Simple aroma and taste, just some roasted malt, some sweetness, too weak and too poor.
