COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Sometimes known as Kinmount Willie Oatmeal Stout in the US.
Brewed to the exacting standards of Robert Younger, great grandfather of the founder of Broughton brewery. This rich stout is bursting with the flavours of roasted barley and black malt. The excellent hop bitterness is offset by the silky mouth feel of oats.
Major ingredients are:-
Optic Pale Ale Malt, Black Malt, Roasted Barley, Pinhead Oats. Hops used are English grown Fuggles, First Gold and Challenger.

Black color with ruby highlights, a creamy off-white head with moderate lacing. Subdued smoky aroma with mild chocolatey notes. Beer is smooth drinking and has hints of chocolate bitterness. Decent stout.

A solid stout. Something I could drink many of in one sitting. Or at least that was my first impression. After drinking the bottle, I kinda got tired of it. I wanted to try something new. So, above average but not something I’d want to try again.

I have a bottle of Kinmount Willie, which doesn't turn up a search. At least I finally found it.

I put this right even with Samuel Smith’s Oat meal stout. It was very hard for me to decide which one I like better. They’re both different from eachother but overall I like them the same.

Bought this at Bottleworks in Seattle none of the classic faults of a bad stout and none of the things that make a stout stellar maybe MJ had this fresh.Page 86 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide and only 448 Classic Brews to go.

Hints of autumn aroma. Lovely deep silky smokiness and warmth, peat bogs and the apetite for oat cakes and mackerel. Lovely smooth creamy porridge head. One bottle is not enough.

Mild malt aroma, and a black color with a light tan head. Quite mild for a stout, but it does seem to land between the normal scottish ale and a heavier oatmeal stout. Nicely smooth, and very drinkable.

Bought this as part of a holiday four-pack to gift myself this season... jet black body with thin, ozone-like off-white head in a snifter--intimidating! Sharp malt and some oat presence--nodescript otherwise... smooth, creamy body...effervescent around tongue...a bit smokey in the finish...early coffee and nut tastes with a late smokey flavor...milky? oatmeal? enjoyably smooth a nd subtly roasted...I’d drink this again, despite its availability only in 1.9 pints...

Black, slight brown head. Malty aroma is nice and strong. Little thin. Nice and roasted. Not too malty not drying. Sweet that lingers well. Smooth, gets dryer.
