COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Sometimes known as Kinmount Willie Oatmeal Stout in the US.
Brewed to the exacting standards of Robert Younger, great grandfather of the founder of Broughton brewery. This rich stout is bursting with the flavours of roasted barley and black malt. The excellent hop bitterness is offset by the silky mouth feel of oats.
Major ingredients are:-
Optic Pale Ale Malt, Black Malt, Roasted Barley, Pinhead Oats. Hops used are English grown Fuggles, First Gold and Challenger.

This is a beer I could drink too much of if not careful. Very easy to drink, wonderful coffee notes.

The best Oatmeal Stout I’ve had. Opaque black with a tan head like the crema on a good espresso. Roasty, in an odd way suggestive of both peat and coffee, but with a fruity maltiness. Not too horribly thick, but that’s fine.

I put this right even with Samuel Smith’s Oat meal stout. It was very hard for me to decide which one I like better. They’re both different from eachother but overall I like them the same.

A pleasant stout. Not overpowering, and light aftertaste.

Dark brown body with nice tan head. Roast oat malt aroma with a bit of toffee. Delicious bitter flavour, quite drinkable.

A very nice malty roasted aroma. Dark in the glass with a good head. Nice heavy feel. Full complex taste with good silky mouthfeel. Very nice indeed.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2003 Smells of strong coffe and chocolate with a hint of bitter stout. Pitch black pour with lots of head, looks just like the picture. Flavor is a creamy chocolate oatlike stout. Good representative of the style, reminds me of Fuller's London Porter with a pinch of stout. A very tasty beer.

Bottle labelled Kinmount Willie and on the back it says Oatmeal Stout. This brew poured a large head of medium sized creamy dark brown colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a good lacing and an opaque black colored body with no visible carbonation. The wonderful aroma was made up of roasted sweet malts and the mouthfeel was smooth and even from start to finish. No bitterness here! The flavor was an appealing one with a hint of "black beer" flavor, strong malt, no coffee and some sweetness in the lingering fiinish. Very nice brew it is and is much to my liking.
