2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Dark, roasted malts and lighter coffee notes along with some dark chocolate to begin with. There is some grain and barely too.
Dark, mahogany brown with a thin & bubbly, half-centimetre head that is light brown & stays throughout.
Dark malts, some milky coffee and a little roasted barely account for most of the taste here but not in a manner that I enjoyed. The finish was a bitter hops one.
Quite thin in body with a lot more carbonation than I would have preferred, it almost feels like Iím drinking a cola.
Really disappointing to me, I didnít find it particularly well balanced or flavourful with too much fizz, I canít see what all the fuss is about here. Not a fan.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
A litle coffee in the aroma, but not much. This beer is pretty much nothing. Any flavor fades quickly as it takes some metal from the bottle too. One of the worst stouts Iíve had.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Lackluster roasted malt in watery body of crushed fieldberries and grapes…Nowhere near the greats…

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bland. Insipid. Almost tasteless. Devoid of gust. Lacking in savor. Ingustible. So sweetly mawkish, and so smoothly dull. A double first in watery. The Nobel Prize for Weakness. The Blue Ribbon at the International Flat Tasting Beers Competition for the flattest tasting beer since Adam doubled boiled, triple pasteurized and super filtered his ale. Vapid. Wishy-washy, and having no relish of merit or distinction. Rerate: I cannot have a stout near the bottom of my list, nor can I rate even an oatmeal stout below that of an American Standard lager.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Full of flavor, slightly sweet with a roasted chocolate and oatmeal style flavor. Relatively low alcohol content makes this somewhat smoother than some of the other Broughton Ales.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Dark brown (almost black) with a small beige head. Light aroma of roastiness with a hint of cola. Overall very light in flavor; notes of roasted malt and some coffee and chocolate. Not sweet at all, has a touch of bitterness at the end. Unacceptably thin, watery and fizzy mouthfeel - felt like a soda. You can do a lot better than this.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Strongly phenolic raisin smell. clear dark brown with a thin tan head. Tastes of tea with moderate astringency. Light charcoal finish. Watery mouthfeel, tainted. Little resemblance to a stout and drinks more like a dunkel or scotch ale.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
I would dare say that this isnít even a stout. Smells like molasses, tastes metallic, can almost see through it, doesnít have any oatmeal aroma or flavor, very thin and watery. Reminds me of a bad extract beer.
