2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2011
Cask (gravity dispense) at the Pigs Ear Beer Festival, London on 6 December 2006. Deep ruby colour. Lightly malty aroma with some fruity accents. Stronger fruit on the palate - berries dominant. Lots of malt and no discernible hop presence leaves it feeling a bit unbalanced as far as I’m concerned. Mouthfeel is mellow and sweetish but not too sticky, so retains an amiable drinkability.

Cask in the state bar. Aroma is quite sweet, hints of apple and grassy notes. Taste is similar, quite thin though which made it very drinkable.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm) Dark brown colour leaning in the mahogany direction, pale brown, frothy head. Malty nose with dark fruit, blackberries and a hint of chocolate. Malty taste with wild berries, dark fruit and some chocolate. Rather sweet with lots of berries. Nice beer, but from a beer with the name Winter Fire, I would expect a little more ... fire.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Nekronos (2655) - Xalapa, MEXICO - DEC 13, 2005
UPDATED: APR 30, 2006 Very good, I found four different Christmas beers new for me yesterday, and this was good as the rest of them, A little bitter, but with the characteristic flavour of the Broughton ales. Really nice.
