Pours a cloudy golden color with a thin white head. Pleasant aroma of spices, hops and hay. Good, dry flavor of hops, hay and spices with some hops bitterness. The body is light and the carbonation is moderate. Good stuff.

On tap at the pub at their second anniversary. Muddy brown-orange with no head. Aroma is sweet malt, toasted malt and red fruits. Flavor is Belgian malt, toastd malt, brown sugar, plums and apples. I’ve had much better from this brewery.

On tap at the brewpub at their first anniversary, slight cloudy amber-orange hue, with a white head, yeasty, fruity, orange, tangerine peel, peachy, apricot esters in the nose, with some mild herbal, coriander spiciness, with faint floral hop citrusy accent, and some pale toasty malt, light honeyed grainy cereal aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, tangerine peel, pineapple, mango, flowery hop character, with some orange, peachy, citrusy leafy spearmint flavors, leading towards a fruity, orange peel, spicy coriander, lingering hop leafy bitterness finish.

(Rating #2462)

Taster at Festival Bieres et Saveurs 08. The color is a hazy honey with a thin beige head. The aroma is of hops and fruits. The taste also being of hops with yeast and fruits mostly citrus gives it a nice bitter note. A verynice and pleasant Belgium ale.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2009 An amber ale with almost no head. A maple/molasses aroma, very pleasant. In mouth, a very roasted nutty ale, bit of Curacao, and warming alcohol. Rich and smooth. A well done Belgian ale. Festival Bières et Saveurs, August 29 2008. 7-3-8-4-14

A golden amber ale with a thin white head. A nice sweet malt with light coriander extract, nice and pleasant. In mouth, a nice candy sugar with pleasant herbal coriander, not too strong, medium bodied. Festival Bières et Saveurs, Sept. 7, 2009. Randalized with coriander and hops. 7-3-8-3-14

In short: A hugely drinkable well-rounded Belgian blonde ale
How: Tap at brewpub, first batch (only batch so far)
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a medium off-white head
In long: Nose if fruity and herbal/grassy. This yeasty Belgian ale offers a lot of cereals, fruity flavours, a perfect hop balance and a full fluffy body. Cushiony maltiness with a cake/muffin feeling. Fruity flavours of citrus, dried oranges. Dry grassy finish with a tasty bitterness. Hugely drinkable, feels like a 5%. Doesn’t break new grounds but this is excellence in simplicity. If this new beer is any indications of the beers to come from this new Montreal brewpub this place will become more popular than a greasy all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant in Houston Texas.

Tap at the brewpub. One of the best beers of the trip. Very cloudy pour, thick, nitro-like head. Delicious fresh rising dough aroma, yeast and apple. Flavor is like wet, unbaked dough, a bit thin but still rich and full bodied. Very Belgian, quite mild but still distinct. Lovely. This beer put me back in the zone real quick.
