Hazy dark amber with a minimal white head. Aroma is citrus, herbal, resin, fruity. Full body and low carbonation. In mouth is cherry, fruity, caramel, with a warming alcohol hint and a moderate bitterness.

330. Thanks, Dany! Pours an opaque and very dark brown with a loose and short-lived slim tan rim on top. Big sweet caramel and toffee nose. Thick, sticky body. Caramel, nuts, toast, toffee, molasses and brown bread on the mid-palate. Long sweet sticky finish. Nice malty sweet barleywine.

Corps asser puissant. Texture grasse et moyennement ronde. Carbonisation moyenne. Finale astringente sur des notes d’alcool.

Thanks cfrancis for the bottle. Pours out a crystal clear deep amber with a small tan head and slippery lacing. Excellent colour. Scents of sweet caramel, sweet citrus, peaches, mild apple, sugar. Smells rich and is nicer when warmed up a bit. Mmmm.. tasty caramel and lots of fruit. Very good sweetness, mild pine, thick and syrupy, resin, nice bitterness. Pretty straight forward yet tasty. It also has been a while since I’ve had a good barley wine. No alcohol distraction. Full bodied and syrupy, hidden bitterness and a really nice finish.

341mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp, pours copper amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, dried dark fruits (plum, raisins, dates), and a slight roasted character. Flavour of plum, caramel malts, some floral notes, citrus hops and a slight alcohol finish. Not terribly complex or dense in the palate, but a very enjoyable barley wine nonetheless.

341 mL bottle in trade from SlovakSniper. (Geez I’m going through these quickly.) Transparent orange-brown with almost no head. Nice aroma of peaches, brown sugar, alcohol and a bit of citrus from the hops. The flavour is a little sweeter and definitely fruitier than most barleywines. These flavours come up front, and are followed by alcohol, malt, and surprisingly little alcohol. Pretty juicy for a barleywine. But not bad.

2012-01-22. Very dark brown body, small tan head fades. Aroma has light alcohol up front, a modest but rich sweet malt character. Flavour is similar, mild alcohol throughout, sweet sugary malt middle, mild balancing bitterness is magnified by the alcohol in the finish. Malt takes on some more nuance as it warms, sugary fruit touches, light toasty malt undertones. Simple, and the alcohol is overly prominent but fairly enjoyable malt forward barleywine. 2011 Vintage bottle bought July 2011 from Dep Peluso, Montreal

2011 bottle (it appears -- scratched label) via a trade. Pours with a extremely dark brown, bordering on a black body with a lasting, off-white head with pretty solid lace. Mild alcohol legs above the legs. Excellent retention. Aromas are of brown sugar, maple, malty, caramel, floral, marmalade, toffee, citrusy/orangey hops. Vanilla, deeply bready, mild oxidation. Flavors are very sweet, bordering and perhaps fully cloying! Brown sugar, molasses, candied citrus and marmalade. Vanilla, boozy, strong ethyl alcohol, medium bitter. A lot of sharp alcohol and esters. Smooths a bit after volitization and warming. Brandy. Dried figs, bitter. Syrupy body. Low carbonation. Burnt and warming.
