341ml bottle. Pours a deep clear reddish-amber color with an off-white head that leaves some film on the beer and a thick ring. Nice spicy aroma that hints of cinnamon red hot candies and ripe fruits, as well as sweet toffee malts and some hop resins. The flavor is a little on the sweet side, but pretty good besides that. Big English toffee on the malt, sugar plum, orange, and molasses, with a mildly hoppy finish. The level of booziness is about what you’d expect, and the carbonation is on the softer side. This is a good barleywine for sure, but not awesome by any means. Good to get some nice Canadian ticks in though.

330ml bottle - shared by the Quebec posse in Lithuania - thanks!
Super sweet aroma, worryingly so. Rich reddy orange, no head. In the mouth it’s incredibly full. Totally sweet but has an amazing yumminess to it too. The rocket fuel booze aspect is "hidden" behind the enormous sugariness. Also has enough hops to cut through that and with a cut-mixed-peel feel make it more liqueur-like.

Bottle 341 ml 2009 [8/4/8/3/16] : Pours ligth amber, low carbonatation, but not too bad considering age/style. Smells caramel, toffee and loads of sugar. Tastes caramel, sweet. Full bodied, Ok balanced. Not easily drinkable due to high amount of sugars. Very low taste of alchool, till the end of duration, where there is a little bit of alchool on the tongue. Very nice beer, to drink with moderation. Bottle 341 ml. 2011 [8/3/7/3/14] Pours brown, with more head than 2009. Off white foam, reducing, but lingering to a degree. Smells caramel and sugar. Does not taste alchool, but it does gets to the body. A little bit more bitter than 2009. Overall, i’m wondering if its the exact same recipe than 2009, due to a certain amount of differences, in appearance and taste. I do prefer the cellared one. Nice beer.

2011 bottle (it appears -- scratched label) via a trade. Pours with a extremely dark brown, bordering on a black body with a lasting, off-white head with pretty solid lace. Mild alcohol legs above the legs. Excellent retention. Aromas are of brown sugar, maple, malty, caramel, floral, marmalade, toffee, citrusy/orangey hops. Vanilla, deeply bready, mild oxidation. Flavors are very sweet, bordering and perhaps fully cloying! Brown sugar, molasses, candied citrus and marmalade. Vanilla, boozy, strong ethyl alcohol, medium bitter. A lot of sharp alcohol and esters. Smooths a bit after volitization and warming. Brandy. Dried figs, bitter. Syrupy body. Low carbonation. Burnt and warming.

2012-01-22. Very dark brown body, small tan head fades. Aroma has light alcohol up front, a modest but rich sweet malt character. Flavour is similar, mild alcohol throughout, sweet sugary malt middle, mild balancing bitterness is magnified by the alcohol in the finish. Malt takes on some more nuance as it warms, sugary fruit touches, light toasty malt undertones. Simple, and the alcohol is overly prominent but fairly enjoyable malt forward barleywine. 2011 Vintage bottle bought July 2011 from Dep Peluso, Montreal
