(Rating #3895)

On tap at the brewpub, honey-gold color, with a white head, nice cereal pale, toasted malt, earthy floral leafy hop nose, with a soft fruity yeastiness accent, and a light tinge of malty sweetness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, zesty, spritzy lemon, grapefruit peel, light honeyed crunchy earthy pale, toasty malt cereal character with a nice flowery leafy, grassy, citrusy hop backbone, leading towards a faint honeyish maltiness, zesty lemony hop bittering finish.

Sample at Bières et saveurs de Chambly. Appearance: Peach-gold, small white foam and decent lacing. Aroma: Fresh cereal, hay, hops and white fruits (pear). Subtle yet enjoyable and complex. Taste: Moderate bitterness from the grassy hops upfront, pinneaples and finishes with honey sweetness. Very well balanced. Palate: Full bodied and medium carbonation. Overall: A nice hidden gem, as good as it gets for a hoppy belgian ale. My favourite of the festival.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MartinT (6934) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 20, 2011
My Bottom Line :
Levelled spicy hops lend herbal bitterness to this engaging Belgian-style Ale as delicate cereals surface atop a lightly bready yeast profile.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam tops the cloudy orangey blond.
-Hop character is perfectly balanced; just present enough to be flavorful, and just subtle enough never to tire your tastebuds.
-HInts of orange fruitiness add depth.
-The soft effervescence and lean residual sugars make for a pillowy body.
-This is very drinkable and quenching while possessing just enough personality for you to want another pint right away.
-A refreshing tartness accompanies the finish. Again, admirably balanced to the rest of the flavor profile.
-I really hope this becomes their "house blond". I’d like to start every evening at Brouhaha with a pint of this!
On tap at Brouhaha.

On Randall at Brouhaha MTL /w Sorachi. Pour hazy orange off white head. Aroma green tea, grassy, bitter, fresh cut grass, fresh hopped wort. Taste green tea, quite bitter, grassy/floral hops, sweet malt. MF. Cooled wort medium body limited carb. Solid tastes but not quite right as far as beer goes, reminds me a lot of fresh wort during homebrew day.
