Tasted at Bieres et saveurs. Prunes, grapes and burnt caramel taste. Can barely detect any alcohol. Lubiere (3524), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 7, 2008 A dark clear brown ale with a thin off white head. A nice caramel and prune aroma, alcohol. In mouth, licorice and candy sugar, light prunes. Good and rich abt. Tasted at Mondiale 2008, June 1 2008. beerbuzzmontreal (2771), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 29, 2008 Pours a clear reddish brown color with a thin beige head. Aroma of liquorice, fruits and malt. Good flavor of bubble-gummy yeast, liquorice, fruits and malt. The body is light to medium with a liquorous texture and medium carbonation. This beer doesn’t compare to the great ABTs like Rochefort, Westy and St-Bernardus, but it’s still a pretty good beer. Best of this new brewpub. Dark with a mocha head and lace. Good carbonation. Neutral aroma. The taste gets better,it grows on you, its a thick mouthfeel. There was a sourness characteristic that didn’t work too much against it but was a surprise to the brewmaster himself.
