goozen (740), Leiden, Netherlands Oct 4, 2007 Tap at Brouwcafe: Their version of a Palm-like beer, but this have some little salty taste in an kind of good way. bierkoning (4691), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 26, 2007 Brewery tap. Raspberry and caramel in the aroma. Toffee, feta cheese and raspberry in the flavor. Hint of upcoming sourness. Diacetyl. Disappointing. JorisPPattyn (4262), Antwerpen, Belgium Aug 30, 2006 Slightly hazy orange-amber beer with yellow-orange, fine & dense head. Lactic acid nose, slightly woody, faint spicey (nothing in particular). Rosehips? Quite inviting, but this kind of nose can be ominous. Strange combination of smoked and citruslike sourness. Spiciness remains, but no restsugars, though I get some caramelflavour hints. Sourness is not lactic in the taste. The flavours are nice, a bit lacking is the balance however. There’s no new aftertaste; the smokiness - with light bitterish spicey colouring - holding out longer than the acidity. Rather thinnish body. I cannot put my finger upon what is ailing me, but I get an impression of "Ouf, it turned out right, after all." Maybe it’s me. Thanks, Dean.
BTW, my label is suitably different, and does not mention "amber"? acrdz (4248), Pennsylvania, USA Jun 7, 2006 Updated: Aug 8, 2007Draft glass
Consumed at Het Brouwcafe, Scheveningen, May 2006
Clear medium to dark orange color. A bit of a hoppy, oily and soapy flavor, sour honey and light spices are what I get from this beer. Has a bit of aa spoiled vegetable flavor. Decent bitterness. jerohen (1465), Bussum, Netherlands Jan 7, 2006 On draft at Brouwcafe Scheveningen. Hazy orange/amber coloured, rapidly dying head. Like all Brouwcafe brews this one shows that typical sourness, but here some malty sweetness is able to partially compensate for this. Easy to drink beer. Nothing too special about it though.
