Bottle. This is opaque dark brown. A big malty aroma and flavor. First sip is harsh and that stayed throughout. Caramel, dark fruit, Belgian yeast, and brown sugar. That harshness had to have been the alcohol and it made this less enjoyable than it could be.

500 ml bottle from Jane’s Beer Store. Nose is bubblegum, golden raisins, and something like the caramelization when making cotton candy in a drum machine. Clear rusty brown with a medium beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter with raisins and a slightly bitter finish.

Pours a rich mahogany color with a two finger khaki foam that bubbles out fairly quickly. The nose is burnt caramel, licorice, dark fruit and a touch of spice. That palate is soft and flows nicely with a lots of balanced flavor.

16.9 oz bottle. Pours a clear cola brown color with some reddish highlights and a thin off white head. The aroma is caramel, brown sugar, dark fruits, raisin, prune and fig. The flavor has caramel, brown sugar, raisins, plums and some alcohol. A bit thin and not as smooth as I would like. This is just ok.

Ibrew2or3 (5757) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - APR 24, 2013
50cl bottle pours with a clear dark amber body with ruby red hues and supporting thin tan head. The aroma offers up prunes and raisins and booze along with a thin caramel malt note. The taste is similar with notes of prunes and caramel malts moving into raisins, plum juice and brown sugar sweetness to midway. It gets a touch boozy now and then as the finish approaches. Decent.
