COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a time where a lot of Belgian Brewers are starting to experiment with American Hops, Brouwers Verzet shows they are already past that stage, and they come out with a low alcohol beer with No American Hops (NoAH)

Bottle. Pours a clear golden body with a large white head. Nose is white sugar, pale malts, Belgian ale yeast and hints of straw and marzipan. Taste is straw, bitter herbs, pale malts, white sugar and hints of wet leaves and Belgian ale yeast. Light body, medium to high carbonation. Uninspired Belgian blonde with a bit too much bitterness to call it balanced. Not too bad, but rather boring.

Bottled. Hazy orangeish golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is citrus, some yeast, mild spices as well as some herbal and quite caramelly notes. Flavour is citrus, some zest, yeast, caramel, bread and mild grainy notes. The yeast gives it a nice kick, but at the same time the beer remains a bit thin.

Super noge = super no grandes envolées ...

Medium heavy sediment clouds the beer during latter part of pour, but adds to the flavour. A wonderful beer with a fuller body than XX Bitter yet less alcohol. Hits a gap in the Belgian market for lower alcohol, masterfully hopped beers.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2014 Hoppy Belgian blonde with below average ABV. Thinnish but dense, lacing, snow white head over a deep golden blonde beer with good fizz and minuscule yeast particles floating around, hazy. Aroma of grapefruit, chicory, white bread, orange peel, yoghurt, green apple, unripe green plums, freshly cut grass, starfruit, soap, orange juice. Fruity taste but in a restrained kind of way, unripe stonefruit and green apple peel, some natural lemony acidity, yeasty, smooth and soft mouthfeel with minerally carbonation, dryish palate, spicy notes smoothly giving way to a minerally and sourish finish in which drying grassy and somewhat citrussy hops abound, bitter honey and grapefruit. Very quenching and refreshing, I’d say this is a typical example of the ’blond bitter’ style of Belgian ales, in the league of XX Bitter, Bink Blond or even Westvleteren Blond. The intention being to avoid American citrus-flavouring hops, they did a good job at achieving exactly the same effect with European hops. Stuff to think about, though I am all for American hoppiness.

Belgian ale moderna molto luppolata e di bassa gradazione alcolica. Veramente buona! Consigliatissima!

DAA; Pours large, hasy golden, frothy, lasting and lacing, off-white. Nose is moderate malt, caramel, apple and pears, yeast and spice. Taste is moderate sweet and bitter with a sweet citric, warming, spiced, lasting finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is avarage.
