Capped 750 from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Label says tripel. Gushed a bit. Pours dirty dishwater orange gold with a temporary fizzy white head. Aroma seems to be warm caramel/toffee with anise. Full bodied. Anise it is. Almost medicinal. Coriander? It is rather warming, so perhaps that’s those seeds. And it is a little citric. Somehow it all blends together in a very good way. Finishes fairly bitter. Note: foam keeps coming out of the bottle!

Fairly explosive :o). Slight hazy orange golden with a big, frothy, off-white head. Big bubbles in the foam. Aroma is spicy, light salty, some coriander and mild sweetness. Light apple, some milky notes. High carbonation, dryish and light oily palate. Flavour is sweet malty, some apple and light oranges. Very dry herbal finish with some lingering saltiness. Elegant and quite drinkable.

Draft at the Birch. Light and bright, and crystal clear. Gluey head. Classic aroma for a Tripel -- light and wheaty. This drinks with an amazing sticky-yet-creamy mouthfeel and an almost spicy but not quite flavor. Banana, and a little bit of orange, mingled with wheat and yeast. Amazing! (#4112, 5/21/2011)
