3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Capped 750 from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Label says tripel. Gushed a bit. Pours dirty dishwater orange gold with a temporary fizzy white head. Aroma seems to be warm caramel/toffee with anise. Full bodied. Anise it is. Almost medicinal. Coriander? It is rather warming, so perhaps that’s those seeds. And it is a little citric. Somehow it all blends together in a very good way. Finishes fairly bitter. Note: foam keeps coming out of the bottle!

Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of banana, apple, malts, liquorice, anise seed, yeast. Sweet flavour, liquorice. Sweet quite spicy finish. Not bad, but my favourite either.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled 15 cl. draft @ Modeste 2013. Hazy orange with little white head. Nose is sweet citrus, BE yeast, floral with some bread and bitter hay. Taste is bitter floral with dominating BE yeast, white bread, plaster, faint citrus & zest. Touch bitter spices in the back. Higher carb. body is dominated by BE yeast. Okay but non-remarcable or exiting BE brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Orange dorée trouble, dépôt en suspension, col blanc tombe rapidement. Les malts caramel laissent vite place à une amertume épicée, quelques touches de miel et de réglisse. Une triple des plus plaisante...

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Brussels bottle marked as "Gulden Spoor Kalle - Triple". Assuming this is an alias. Nice hazy orange pour with a foamy white head and good lacing. Fairly light, sweet aroma like citrus fruit or honey. Kinda sweet, tripel-ish at start but it finishes with a little spice and alcohol kick. Fine, not sure about "for the ladies" though.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, badged as ’Bezembier’ for the witch theme of the small town Bescelare. Available at the new town recreation centre ’Leege Plaatse’. The way this beer hit all the right places for a Belgian Tripel made me suspect I was tasting a Proef beer, but to my surprise, a small local brewery. Not overly sweet, but a flavour made up from a herbal-spice mixture impressed from the start. Judging by ratings, a beer which has been some time in development, but this is certainly a finished product. Very impressed.
