Draft at the Birch. Light and bright, and crystal clear. Gluey head. Classic aroma for a Tripel -- light and wheaty. This drinks with an amazing sticky-yet-creamy mouthfeel and an almost spicy but not quite flavor. Banana, and a little bit of orange, mingled with wheat and yeast. Amazing! (#4112, 5/21/2011)

It has a thick syrupy hefeweizen or white ale smell, no surprise after reading the description. The color is awesome cloudy golden with sediment. The flavor has sweet vanilla and citrus notes on a thick body. The flavor of Belgian yeast comes in strong on this delicious, strong ale.

Bottle 75 cl. RE-tasted home (bought @ Pauwels, Heule) First time at week van de smaak, end nov. 2007, Kortrijk. A hard to find beer. Hazy, dark golden color, with creamy white head. Aroma fruits, bitterness. Medium body. Taste fruit hints, bit sweet, bitter ending. Aftertaste alcoholic touch and bitterness. Good one.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy light orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet apple and pear, light spices. Flavor is quite similar, spicy upfront with yeast and sweet fruits. Very pleasant and easy drinking. Decent BSA. 7/4/7/4/15 (3.7/5)

iBottle at ’t Rusteel, Gullegem, Belgium/ibr Hazy, blond/amber body. White creamy head. Bitter aroma of oranges - well balanced. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter flavour with some subtle hints of oranges, vanilla, ... Good balance with a nice/subtle sweet complexity in the subtle fruity flavours.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Very hazy yellow-golden with a medium, quite firm, lasting and lacy head. Quite original aroma of sweetish, pale malt, anise and licorice, spices, lemony hops. Spicy and licoricey flavor with sweet, bready maltiness, orangey fruitiness, and flowery-lemony-aromatic hops. Medium body, soft carbonation, reasonably refreshing despite the sweetness. A quite original mix of spices, hops, and malt. Too sweet to be fully enjoyable, but probably good "for the ladies".

Capped 750 from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Label says tripel. Gushed a bit. Pours dirty dishwater orange gold with a temporary fizzy white head. Aroma seems to be warm caramel/toffee with anise. Full bodied. Anise it is. Almost medicinal. Coriander? It is rather warming, so perhaps that’s those seeds. And it is a little citric. Somehow it all blends together in a very good way. Finishes fairly bitter. Note: foam keeps coming out of the bottle!

Bottle sampled on 12/13/09: Pours a slightly hazy deep golden with a well-lacing froth of white head. Aroma of soft biscuity malts and a touch of coriander with some earthy hop notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and toasty biscuity pale malts with a touch of light fruits before a doughy semi-dry finish. Pretty true to style and drinkable.
