Bottle from SL, enjoyed at SL. The pour was amber in color with a totally pathetic head for any beer, let alone the style. The aroma was malty sweet caramel and some spices. The flavor was caramelly sweet (a darker Belgian ale than I like) with some saffron type spicing in there. The sweetness was near cloying for a lower abv Belgian Ale, and this had no dryness from yeast or hops, as I prefer in my Belgian ales. Slight zing from the spices in the finish, but this was sloppy. Ah well, win some, lose some. (Orval should have it’s own class, where beers like this can’t sniff proximity in style name.)

Clear goldblond coloured beer with small white head and few carbonation. Full bit sparkling palate. Finish is roasted smokey ending bitter dry, soft ending compared to the Kalle. Good one.

Bottle. Aroma yeasty with light fruits and mild herbal hop notes. Flavor pretty bland, light malt, light yeast. A bit water-forward. Really just couldn’t come up with much to say about this one...

Bottle. Pours a clear orange with a small ring of white head. Aroma of sweet fruits, melon, and yeast. Flavor of more melon and sweet yeastiness, a pretty typical Belgian really. Doesn’t live up to those other Brouwkots but I guess it’s still chill overall. 7/4/6/4/14 (3.5/5)
