Blond beer with a creamy stable big white head. Smells hoppy, some citrus and other esters. Tastes bitter. Seems low on saturation and non alcoholic. Leaves a nice lingering bitterness.

750ml bottle. Plucked on heavy discount from Binnys as these bottles are some of the most overpriced on the market. Murky brown pour with a large head. Smell is oxidized, some spice ntoes as well. Mouthfeel is super carbonated, it is oxidized but in a semi-pleasant manner, has some fruity esters and caramel/toffee.

Gulden Spoor’s first, when it was still called Brouwkot. Sticky, snow white, relatively thick head, pale peach blonde colour, hazy. Aroma of peach, gooseberry, honey, almond, white grape, green apple, caramel, mint, white pepper. Soft peachy taste with mellow honeyish and caramelly malt background, yeasty, bit bready, mild herbal hops in the finish. Ordinary blonde Belgian session beer.

33cl Bottle from Prik&Tik Pauwels. Hazy golden orange colour, off-white head. Aroma is malty, honey, cooked apples, aged blond beer, yeast. Flavour is medium-sweet, malty, sweet apples, apple sauce, yeast, light spicy, decent bitter finish. Tastes better than it sounds. Nice beer. Light-bodied.

It appears medium amber with a small creamy head. Murky too, but muddy when you pour all of it because of some particles. The aroma is a fine balance between honey, straw, grass and yeast. Initially it tastes moderately sweet, lightly bitter and dry in the (long) finish. Soft carbonation, a bit creamy on the tongue and light alcoholic. A beer to my taste.

33cl bottle: poured into the lovely ’Tripel Karmeliet’ stemmed tulip glass at home on 30th April 2014. Huge head that stayed, misty amber body below. The nose was yeasty with honey notes this gave the aroma a strange strange overall feel. The taste was also yeasty and again with honey traces to sweeten the flavour’ although a grassy, hop base kept the beer from becoming too sweet. I’m not a ’honey in beer’ person but this doesn’t throw the honey in your face like some and I thought it fine.
