Test vom 27.9.2009, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 8,7,7,6,-,8 - 7,36

Hazy blond, unfiltred, small white head. Banana in nose cloves and some grains. Medium body, fine carbon. Banana, tropical fruits, bonbons and pears on palate. Sweet aftertaste, very fruity. Drafted id BrowArmia in Warsaw.

Lahev (Diky, Štěpane!) Golden, hazy, quickly collapsing white fluffy head, bananas, wheat and yeast in the nose; light to moderate sweet-sourish flavour, light to medium bodied, a bit spritzy; fresh sourish-fruity finish. Unexpected good Weizen from Polonia.....

Bottled. Pours cloudy light yellow with a dense white head. Aroma is malted wheat, bananas, spice (clove) and citrus. Flavour is sweet malt with light banana and clove and lemony crispiness. Finish is rather brief and dry, refreshing. This beer is a bit thin but otherwise a good Hefeweizen.

draught at the brewpub on a very hot and moist day, after carrying 25 bottles of beer from Wine of Dreams through Warsaw, with Schroppfy. Cloudy pale yellow, large and creamy white head - looks fine. Rather light-bodied, watery again, refresing with good flavours in the background.

Unclear pale yellow, with a firm white head. Wheat and yeast aroma, some slight banana and spices. Flavour like a German Weizen (duh), bit thin. Malts, wheat, yeasty, bit tart. Rather dry finish, some spice, some lemon. Not bad. (draught at Brow Armia brewpub, summer 2010)

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2011 Rarate, on draft: This is a better beer, by .4 overall, on draft. Much better head, aromatics are a little challenging, flavor more subtle and developed in its spiciness. Still watery. Original: Bottled, best before Nov 2010. Pours with a head which develops rapidly then dies very quickly. Gone! Looks dead in the glass, regular old gold. Weak watery banana on the nose with little spices. Bready, overly sweet flavors, lots of banana and nothing else. An unfinished beer and not one I spent more than a few ounces on. Will try on draft locally in Warszawa. (even with the yeast pour after a couple of ounces of clear this was still lifeless. A little more body and flavorfulness, yet I still drank only half the 500 ml. Note to self, don’t buy again.)

Ungstrup (23960) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 27, 2010
Draft. An unclear light yellow beer with a dense white head. The aroma has notes of straw and wheat as well as light notes of banana. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and wheat as well as lighter notes of banana and hints of cloves, leading to a dry wheaty finish.
