Cask @ 2nd Saltburn Beer Festival. A brown/black colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of coffe with roasted malt and fruits. The taste is dry of bitter coffee with coffee candy. It’s some sweet. The aftertaste is strongly bitter with hints of sweet.

Cask, Leicester 09. Murky mahogany wafting with egg. Tan rim, big hop bitterness, cocoa and smoke. Bit too much egg. OK, but with a name like that, I expected coffee and great things. I didn’t get them.

Cask, 5.0% at GBBF08. Weak chocolate aroma. Very dark brown colour. Small stable light brown head. OK flavour, sweetish at first, then a bit roasted. Has a little spicy aroma hop in the finish.

Cask at GBBF 08. Near black with a persistent tan head. Slight coffee/cocoa on nose and not overdone in the flavour. A good beer.

Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Limited notes as I was convinced I had rated this before. Dark. Lots of roast malt. I didn’t find the coffee particularly pronounced. Touches of bitterness o the finish. A solid beer if not a showstopper.

Gravity, Peterborough Beer Festival 2006. Almost black with no head. Caramel and coffee scent. Slightly oily and watery feel. Not much taste, maybe some coffee, followed by a very very bitter aftertaste. Starts promising but average.

Cask @ Reading 06: Black with a tan head. Simple dark malts, mild spice and almost some dark fruits. Pleasant roast coffee lingers. Good.
