3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A little thin for type. Decent flavor, very mild, sort of a triple for the uneducated masses.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
July 17-19, 2008: Brown Derby Tombstone Belgian Tripel has a Belgian fruit and spice aroma with some light clove. The beer is a sunny gold color and appears to be slightly hazy. It does not have any head or crown. The sweet and malty flavor also contains bubblegum and subtle spice. The alcohol is well-hidden. The beer is medium-bodied and mellow on the palate. Not bad.
Draught sample at The Smiling Skull Saloon in Athens, Ohio during Ohio Brew Week 2008. Rating #3 for this beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours an unfiltered cloudy orange color with a minimal light beige head. Spotty lacing on the glass. Yeast and bananas in the nose. Medium body with flavors of wheat and yeast, along with some fruity esters. The finish is clean and wheaty with a mild spice and banana aftertaste. Hard to believe this beer is over 9% ABV. Overall the beer is slightly above average, and I guess I am impressed that they took a shot at the style considering the rest of their portfolio.
